Where you live?
Born in Louisville, Kentucky and currently living in North Port, Florida
Where you work & what you do?
I am the Director of Golf at The Cove Golf Center in Port Charlotte, Florida
How long have you been an LPGA member?
I have been a PGA member since 1993 and have been an LPGA member since July 2003
How was the process of becoming a member for you?
One of our current members (Cindy Booker) encouraged me to join the LPGA T&CP at the time, and I am so grateful that she did. She helped me through the testing stages and showed me how great it is to be a part of such a wonderful organization.
What does it mean to be an LPGA member to you?
I am proud to be an LPGA member because it connects me to so many great teachers of the game. I share their passion and desire to help others enjoy a lifetime of fun or competition. The LPGA helps so many people get acquainted with, understand, and continue to grow in their knowledge of the game.
What is the best part about the membership for you?
I have been the Southeast Section Tournament Coordinator for the past 5 years. Shari Lindsey encouraged me to take the position. I’m very grateful to her for the opportunity to bring our members together and showcase their many talents. I have met a lot of great members from all over the country, and I have been able to work with them on various projects.
What advice would you give someone just starting the program or thinking about starting?
I would strongly encourage anyone that has the ability to play and a passion for the game to join the LPGA. They are a very strong network made up of talented individuals that know how to practice what they preach. I’m excited to be a part of their organization and would gladly help anyone that wants to become a member.
I would like to acknowledge Nancy Henderson and her terrific leadership in both the LPGA Foundation and the T&CP. She has put in countless hours and spearheaded many projects to improve the growth of the game. She is also a leader on the course—as we were tied for the lead in the Pro-Pro with 3 holes to go—Nancy chipped it in—for the Win. Way to go, partner!!
