Letter from the Vice President – Carole Clark

Hello, from Cape Cod!  What a beautiful summer we are having here.  I hope you all are busy if you are in the areas of our section that are in the peak of the season.  If not, I hope you are taking time to rest up for the start of your busy season.

Our section has had several members that have worked their way through the process of becoming an apprentice, a Class B, or a Class A.  Although a good bit of the process is now online, the dedication to completing all of the components is still challenging, especially when coupled with jobs and family.  Congratulations to all those who have accomplished “the next level” in their career this year.

The Teaching & Education Committee is looking for members to host educational seminars for our section. If you have any topics you’d like to learn about, have a site you’d be willing to host at, or have a speaker that you think would be great for our members to hear please reach out to me with your ideas! I can be reached at alison@pga.com or you can call my cell at 562-981-4662.  Our goal is to put on at least one educational opportunity each quarter on hot topics that are pertinent to our industry. We are currently looking for topics and sites for summer and early fall. Also, please keep your calendars marked for our Regional Education Seminar in Las Vegas, NV, October 31-Nov 1. That weekend will be jam packed with playing opportunities, Pro-Am opportunities, and great speakers with a wealth of knowledge ready to share with you. Look forward to learning more with you!!

Letter from the Southeast Section Vice President — Carole Clark

Ahhhhh…..the seasons are changing! Some in our section see that as a coming of relief, rest and relaxation after a very unpredictable winter in Florida. Others are on the brink of a new season, with new programs, new positions, new goals and new dreams. Whichever describes you and your situation, we hope that you will include participation in LPGA T&CP activities as a part of your plans for this coming season.

Our calendar of events includes local, regional and national activities to participate in all throughout the summer months. Local Lunch & Learns and Meet & Greets will be blossoming all over the Southeast Section as your section officers will be reaching out to you to have you host an event in your area.

If you have areas of interest relating to programs or activities offered in our section, please make one of your officers aware and we will do all we can to get you involved and make whatever you do a success.

If you are looking for a real value in personal growth, consider joining a local Toastmasters club, where you will get plenty of practice speaking, evaluating and leading in a non-threatening, learning environment. There are clubs available all over the world.

Looking forward to connecting with all of you at something LPGA this season.

Happy Easter…happy spring!

Letter from the Vice President

It’s an exciting time in the SE Section! Seasons are changing, our members who have infiltrated the South for the season will soon be preceeding the mass exodus of their students/members to their northern destinations.

We’ve had an unusual winter here in SWFL, with much rain and cooler than normal temps. That is always a challenge for our members who rely on the sunshine for their revenues.

I have just returned from PHX, completing the first ever Opti International Certification with Dr. Debbie Crews. As you know, Dr. Debbie has researched every part of the brain and it’s function during the performance of the golf swing, particularly putting, for the past 30 years.

The product and applications for the Opti Brain and Opti Train technology within Opti Golf are endless. “Labs” with your clients can be conducted indoors or outdoors. A great “rainy day” revenue generator.

Watch the Newsletter from HQ for future Certification sessions. If you would like more information about the product and applications, please contact me at anytime at caroleclark81@gmail.com.

Finally, the local Meet & Greets have been well received. Please let me know if you would like to conduct them in your area. No special skills necessary, just a desire to connect.

Happy Easter, happy Spring and I hope to connect with you all soon!

Letter from the Western Section Vice President – Debby King

debby kingThis summer our Pacific Northwest PGA decided to give out grants to golf courses to help with Player Development. Each course was sent applications to fill out and then a committee voted on who should receive these limited amounts of grants. One grant was for “Player Development” and the other grant was for “Youth Player Development”. I filled out both applications and our golf course was awarded both grants! The Player Development grant I used to purchase the Family Tees and the Youth Grant I used to purchase some SNAG equipment. I was hoping this would help increase our women and junior rounds at Laurelwood.

Clark_CaroleFall is in the air!

For many that means transitioning to the south for the winter to escape the cold.  Having spent my first full summer in Florida, I am looking forward to cooler temperatures and some dryer weather.

My mission this year as your Southeast Section Vice President is to fully engage every member who would like to involve themselves, whether locally, regionally or nationally.

Letter from the Central Section Vice President – Peggy Gustafson

I would like to congratulate all the Section of the Year nominees and honorees.  It is an honor to be nominated for consideration for these special awards and, in my opinion, all are winners.

Let’s all set some goals for the upcoming season for both professional and personal growth.  Please consider hosting or attending a Meet and Greet, Play Day and/or workshop.  The more we can interact and share ideas with each other the stronger our organization can be.
